Principal

Mark D. Hall, Principal and Lead User Experience Architect

Mark leads all user experience improvement projects at Hallmark. He has been in the software development field for sixteen years, and has focused on user experience design, assessment, and training for the past seven years. Prior to starting Hallmark Consulting in 2002, Mark worked as a Design/Human Factors Consultant for International Computer Consultants (ICC), where he designed several conference-related Web applications.

Before ICC, Mark served as the Lead Site Architect and Usability Specialist for Medibuy, a healthcare eCommerce firm, and a Product Designer/Usability Specialist at Claritas, a developer of Web-based market research applications. Mark began his career as a Staff Engineer at The Boeing Company.

Mark earned an M.B.A. in Technology Management from the University of Colorado, and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Washington.


Associates

Jessyca Wallace, Senior Visual Designer and Developer

Jessyca creates exceptional Web sites that meet business goals and user needs. By analyzing existing infrastructure, content, and competitors, she collaborates with clients to determine what works and what doesn't and then implements best practices and creative ideas for generating Web leads. Jessyca splits her time between her Hallmark duties and work at her own firm, Monarch Productions.

Wallace's skill set includes graphic design, programming, usability, accessibility, and search engine marketing. Her unique combination of creative flair, technical know-how, and marketing savvy has benefited a diverse range of companies, including Gateway, Aquent Partners, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, VIPnotes, and Autobahn Consulting Group.

Wallace has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of California at San Diego and completed a minor course of study in Mathematics.


Deborah Gill-Hesselgrave, Senior Usability Specialist

Deborah provides her extensive instructional design, technical communications, product development, and training skills to Hallmark clients on an as-needed basis. Deborah splits her time between her Hallmark duties and work at her own contract consulting firm, DGH Enterprises.

Deborah previously served as the Director of Design at Claritas, Inc. where she used her user-centric design skills to develop Web-based products for companies in the insurance, law enforcement, real estate, and retail industries. Prior to Claritas, Deborah was an Editor for McGraw Hill and a Product Manager for Jostens Learning Corp. Deborah has also provided management services to the Neighborhood House Association and the San Diego Fire Department.

Deborah is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a B.A. in Psychology.
